Year(s) : 2009, 2008
Grant Recipient Type : NGO / Nonprofit
Grantor : World Lung Foundation
Project goal : To help provide diagnosis and care for childhood asthma in Kenya, where about one in ten children between the ages 10 and 14 is asthmatic. Sixty percent of these children suffer from persistent forms of the disease, many have trouble breathing almost daily and are unable to perform many basic physical activities. As in many developing countries, Kenya's asthma patients lack quality care, primarily due to inadequate diagnoses and inability to obtain preventive drug therapy.
Direct Grant : Yes
