Mexico Health Communications Campaigns
In September 2008, Instituto Nacional de Salud
Publica, a grantee of
the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use,
launched a
comprehensive campaign to build support for
smoke-free jurisdictions in
Mexico City. World Lung Foundation provided
financial and technical
assistance.

Un Respiro
In March 2008, Mexico City passed landmark
legislation that made it one of the world's
largest smoke-free cities. The Fundación
InterAmericana del Corazón Mexico, a grantee
of the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco
Usage, produced a series of radio ads that were
developed to demonstrate the benefits of
smoke-free areas for restaurant workers,
patrons and the general public.
