Our Impact
World Lung Foundation
was established in 2004 to reverse the global
epidemic of lung disease, which kills 10
million people each year. Our efforts are
focused in low- and middle-income countries,
where lung diseases take their greatest toll.
Although we are a relatively young
organization, we are already providing
groundbreaking programs and services that
result in improved capacity to fight all forms
of lung disease.
Headquartered in New
York City, with staff and consultants based
around the world, WLF currently has a team of
almost 30 and a $49.7 million annual program
budget. As we continue to broaden our reach, we
will leverage existing relationships and create
new partnerships to meet emerging challenges.
Expanding local capacity will ensure the
sustainability of programs that will improve
lung heath and save lives in the developing
world for years to come.
Reports from the Field
WLF staff file frequent reports from the field, often with photos or other additional items, on the WLF Reports from the Field Blog. Browse the blog to learn more about the day-to-day work of the WLF staff and grantees, and feel free to comment on our blog.
