WLF Running Team
On March 21, World Lung Foundation participated in the annual New York City Half-Marathon in support of asthma treatment. A team of 30 cheerleaders, volunteers and photographers took to the streets of Manhattan to support WLF’s 20 runners, who joined 10,000 international participants on the 13.1-mile route through New York City’s Central Park, Times Square, and west side.
Through the event WLF raised more than $30,000 for treatment of asthma, the chronic lung disease that afflicts nearly 300 million people around the world and causes more than 200,000 deaths each year. WLF is grateful to its runners, volunteers and donors, who were all integral to this success.
